Cleta Gale Chappell, age 86, of Galena, Kansas, passed away peacefully at her home, February 24, 2025. Cleta was born September 28, 1938 in Goodman, Missouri to the union of Conley Carl and Theresa Bernice (Johnson) Bellamy.

She married her 1st love-gift from God, Vernon Acey Beers on April 12, 1958. They had a wonderful loving life and had three children together. Vernon preceded Cleta in death September 20, 1987.

Cleta married her 2nd love-gift from God, Roy Mack Chappell, June 4, 1994. They blended both their beautiful families into one wonderful life. Roy preceded Cleta in death September 8th, 2021.

She also was preceded in death by siblings: (sister) Geneva Beaver, (sister) Fern Ash,

(sister) Billie Gideon, (brother) Alva Bellamy, (brother) Don Bellamy, (brother) Larry Bellamy, (sister) Joy (Dude) Dudley.

Cleta was the consummate Pastor’s wife, homemaker, mother and grandmother. Her faithfulness to Christ was exhibited in these “life-callings” God entrusted her. Being Mamaw became her favorite job as her “grands and great-grands” were her favorite people .

Cleta loved and lived God’s Word. Daily she read and listened to The Bible, jotting down notes and inspirational truths revealed from the Holy Spirit. Fellowship with her God was top priority. Everyone knew her as a “Prayer-Warrior’ and her love language was making afghans and quilts for those she loved. Her favorite past-time was watching her favorite television preachers.

She is survived by her children: (Son) Timothy Beers and wife, Angie. (Daughter) Beth Curtis and husband, Steven. (Daughter) Derenda Shoemaker and husband, Wes. (Son) Steven Chappell and wife, Carrie. (Daughter) Jan Nye and husband, Bill.

She’s also survived by her legacy of 13 grandchildren: Josh, Jamie, Stefani, Mallory, Jonathan, Gabe, Gracie, Stephanie, Billy, Katherine, Matthew, Steven and Jonathan. 26 Great grandchildren.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Harry Hynes Hospice for their loving, compassionate care of Cleta in her transition from Earth to her home in Heaven.
